About the Training

The 50-Hour Advanced Restorative & Somatic Facilitation Training is a three-weekend immersive journey in Brisbane, designed to unfold slowly — with time to integrate, reflect, and embody the teachings between sessions.

It weaves together the principles of Restorative Yoga, Somatic Awareness, and Yoga Nidra, offering a deeply experiential approach to rest, regulation, and embodied facilitation.

Rooted in over a decade of full-time teaching and inspired by the wisdom of Judith Hanson Lasater, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, Tracee Stanley, and Octavia Raheem, this training honours the nervous system as our greatest teacher — and rest as a radical act of remembering.

Your Journey Through Rest & Embodiment

Weekend 1

Foundations of Rest & Somatic Awareness

Discover the physiology of rest through a polyvagal and somatic lens.
Experience foundational restorative postures, somatic touchpoints, and guided Yoga Nidra for deep integration.
Focus: Grounding in presence and reconnecting with the body as a guide.

Weekend 2

Presence, Language & Facilitation

Explore the art of holding space with trauma-aware language, pacing, and tone.
Daily Asana Labs blend practice and facilitation — learning to teach through rest rather than performance.
Focus: Cultivating authentic presence and nervous system literacy in teaching.

Weekend 3

Embodied Teaching & Integration

Step into embodied facilitation with restorative teaching labs, peer observation, and reflective practice.
We close with a full restorative immersion and integration circle.
Focus: Living and teaching from embodied rest — weaving practice into life.

Between weekends, you’ll integrate the teachings through restorative practice, reflection, and attending in-studio classes — allowing your learning to unfold naturally and restfully between sessions.

  • Foundations of somatic awareness and interoceptive listening

  • Language and cueing for trauma-aware and inclusive guidance

  • Principles of sequencing stillness — creating short and extended restorative sessions

  • Yoga Nidra foundations — structure, Sankalpa, and voice as medicine

  • Embodied self-care and sustainable teaching practices

By the end of the training, you’ll hold the embodied wisdom to nurture balance, safety, and calm — in your own practice and in any space you choose to share it.

 Certification & Accreditation

Upon completion, you’ll receive a 50-Hour Advanced Restorative & Somatic Facilitation Certificate, recognized by Yoga Alliance and Yoga Australia for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours.

This training unfolds over three in-person weekends in Brisbane, followed by a period of integration and reflection — an opportunity to bring the teachings into your own rhythm of life and practice.

During this integration phase, you’ll be invited to attend five restorative classes (with Rocío or other teachers), create five original restorative sequences, and reflect on your experience of teaching and receiving rest.

Teachers may log their hours toward Continuing Education requirements, while practitioners attending for personal immersion will receive a certificate of completion honoring their embodied journey.
